The Kickstarter campaign for my tarot deck is now LIVE!
You can check it out here. I launched the campaign on my birthday (Aug. 23rd) and it is set to run until September 30th. I didn’t want the campaign to end in the middle of the month so, against all the tips I read about on launching a successful project, it will run for more than 30 days.
I have all the cards drawn out and am working on finishing the guidebook. I’m so excited and hope the campaign funds. It’s already at 25% and I am so thankful to everyone who has shared the project so far.
Here’s a little process video for one of my cards. I’m laying down inks before coloring.
This is the Hierophant, also known as the High Priest or Pope in some decks. I’ve illustrated him here as a bull.
The bull has been a source of worship in many cultures throughout history. The bull is a symbol of a strong will and uncompromising nature which I think makes for a good leader. The horns sweep upward toward the heavens and act as a bridge between the spiritual and physical world.
The crossed keys between his gilded horns represent the conscious and subconscious mind, held in balance. He wears a red cloak, showing his mastery over his primal nature while also signifying his power and authority. The white rose represents purity and loyalty.
The Hierophant was one of my favorite cards to illustrate and I can’t wait to share the rest of the deck.
